I took B-1 to the doctor today for a well child check-up and was told that she needed a booster shot for the pneumococcal vaccine. And while I was there they asked me about 3 times if I wanted to give my kids a flu-shot. I have decided over the last 5 months or so- since learning and dealing with B-2's digestive problems- that I am frustrated and officially against the medical view. I have dealt with many different doctors, including my own pediatrician of 4 years, pressuring me to vaccinate my kids, and give them harmful medications, and countless other things.
Well, without much thought, I agreed to give B-1 the shot. I now think that that was a huge mistake. She was so traumatized by it, and has been miserable ever since. She took a little nap, thankfully, but has been so sick since then. She's had a fever, stuffy nose, raspy voice, cough, and can't even move her arm without screaming. I feel terrible for putting her through that, and am now worried about the reaction.
I know that this is supposed to be a positive post, and I am getting there, I just needed a little back ground to it. My point is that over the last several months, I have been seriously debating my career of choice. I have been looking into many different options, and thought about changing my career all together, but nothing else appeals to me the way nursing does. So, I have decided on a homeopathic route. I want to learn another way of healing; one that does not come with the kind of side effects I hear about, and one that has a more satisfying outcome. So, today I am thankful for alternative medicine. I am grateful that there are people out there that don't believe in the one size fits all method of healing. I am grateful for the options I have and I am so excited to begin a new path of learning.

I think you'll love non-traditional healing. It works all over the world. Only doctors on America have a cow if you want to explore your options. I'm sorry B-1 got sick from the shot. I HATE flu shots. I think they do more harm than good. It is a business. That's why they push it. There was a kiosk at every airport with the doom and gloom pamphlets and a shining nurse in white to give you the shot for $35. Like I said, it's a business.
You go girl!!! One size fits all isn't really my cup of tea either. I believe there is room for all kinds of healing in this world. Unfortunately our medical establishment is so preset and anything alternative is ruled as ineffective. But for those of us who have been let down by the medical establishment and have had to turn to other options have learned through positive RESULTS that it works (with no side effects!)
