Since it is our Spring Break, Ethan and I decided to start potty training Brynlee since we have about 5 days off. :) I heard about the three day potty training technique and figured what better time to try it out? This technique, let me just tell you, is one of the hardest things I have done. I'm thinking it's been just as hard on me as it has for Brynlee. The main technique is patience and love and not losing my patience through all the accidents has definitely been super hard!
So we started on Wednesday and Brynlee did not do so well. She had quite a few accidents and wasn't picking up on her body signals saying she needed to go. I was trying my hardest not to get frustrated with her, but it was proving to be more and more difficult through out the day. She was so afraid of the potty and still kind of is, she cries every time she goes potty, and tries to stand up. By the end of the day, I was so exhausted. After putting Brynlee to bed, in underwear, we woke a few hours later to an accident in the bed. By then I had read over the 3 day method again and found some reassurance that I was not the only one dealing with the events of the day. So I was not angry when we had to clean it up. I reminded her to tell me when she needed to go potty and it was ok to get up out of bed if she needed to go, and then put her back to bed with some clean sheets. Luckly she stayed dry the rest of the night!
Yesterday went a lot better. She had one minor accident in the morning, but kept her panties dry for the rest of the day! We are so proud of her! She took a nap and kept them dry, played with toys and kept them dry, and watched movies and kept them dry. She finally started picking up on her body's cues and was quick to tell mommy and daddy when she needed to go potty.
Today has been a completely different story...she has had accident after accident and is not telling us when she needs to go. I'm not sure exactly why she's being so defiant today, but after the many accidents and total lack of recognizing them by Brynlee, we've decided that three days isn't going to work for her. We are going to try again at the end of the semester. Sad to say, but we don't have more time to work on it for now. We'll keep you posted.

It's hard with school and work. If she doesn't master it this time, she will. Don't get frustrated:) You had little pee pee accidents everyday until kindergarten!! and you turned out just fine.
