Bryson Maxwell Schramm

He's finally here! And we finally decided on a name, in the delivery room. :) Bryson was born Monday July 20th at 4:09 pm, was 7 pounds 10 ounces, and 19 inches long.

I woke up Monday morning around 9 and started feeling some mild contractions. After the last two weeks of random contractions I thought nothing of it, other than the fact that they hurt more than the ones I've recently been having. After about the 5th one, I started to pay attention. They were getting closer and a little stronger.

I went down stairs to let Ethan know that we might be making a trip to the hospital and he immediately jumped out of his chair and started gathering all the things we needed to take to the hospital. I took a quick shower and attempted to fix my hair a bit, for pictures of course... :)

We took Brynlee to my moms house so that Kenadee could watch her, and drove to the hospital. I knew for sure I was in labor by then, because I couldn't talk through my contractions anymore, and they were getting extremely painful.

Luckily, earlier that morning I called to finish pre-registering, so we were able to go straight up to the labor and delivery floor. I was admitted shortly after arriving, and due to lots of c-sections that day, my dr was unavailable for a few hours. So as I sat in the bed progressing, my dr was in another delivery that ended up having complications and went to an emergency c-section. I was lucky enough to also get an epidural. The anesthesiologist had a short window open before needing to be in a c-section himself so he came to my room and put the epirural in me in about 2 minutes flat. The nurse was in and out of the room checking my progression and things were moving really fast. I was admitted around 11 and was about 4 and a half cm dialted, and before 2 I was at a 9, and the dr was still in c-section. So I had to wait a few more hours before he was available. In the meantime, we finally decided on his name. ;)

The dr made it just in time. Bryson was moving down on his own and my body was telling me to push. After about 25 minutes, and pushing through about 3 contractions, he was here! A little purple from the umbilical cord, but otherwise perfect! I was so glad that this delivery went a lot quicker than with Brynlee. I'd been told that the second one is faster, but I was definitely not expecting it to move that quickly! Thank goodness!

Bryson is such a little sweetheart, and we are so blessed to have him. It's amazing how much he has changed our lives already.
